The aim of the programme is to facilitate the sharing of information and experience on topics of common interest concerning educational systems, practices, and policies within the formal and non-formal education sectors on a cross-border basis, thereby making a valuable contribution to the professional development of teachers and youth workers.
Objectives
The programme is open to all practitioners in education and youth work, including managers and administrators working in these sectors.
Participation in a job shadow placement with a partner organisation will provide participants with the opportunity for:
Job shadowing/Short Study Visits will involve a structured programme of activity to provide professionals within the formal and non-formal sectors with an opportunity to develop their skills and explore common issues. Participants will be required to set a number of objectives for their placement/study visit including a study of a thematic area.
Examples of areas of study during the placement could include:
Organisation of the placement
The person or group who wishes to undertake the job shadowing placement/
study visit will select and secure the agreement of a host partner, on
a cross border basis, and then make an application to the relevant NcompasS
promoting organisation.
A placement/study visit will be for a maximum of five working days and may be organised at any time of the year, by mutual agreement with the host organisation.
Reciprocal arrangements are encouraged and when this is planned, each partner will make an application, to their respective NcompasS promoting organisation.
Travel and Accommodation
Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
Funding
Grants of up to a maximum of Euro750 or £525 will be provided for
a five day placement/ study visit and may be used for the following items
of expenditure:
Please note that funding from this programme cannot support the purchase of capital equipment.
Payment and Reporting
Partners will be required to identify a co-ordinator to be responsible for liaison with the promoting organisations for reporting purposes, including reconciling expenditure. Each organisation will be issued with a contract and will be required to submit financial and narrative reports.
An initial 70% payment of the total grant is payable upon receipt by the promoting organisation of the contract duly signed by the beneficiary.
The final amount of the grant is payable upon submission of a satisfactory report summarising the benefits and outcomes of the activity. All expenditure must be itemised and original receipts provided for travel, insurance and accommodation. These receipts will be approved, stamped and returned in due course.
Please note that this report must be submitted within one calendar month of the activity taking place.
Application
Applications can be made at any time
of the year but must be submitted at least 8 weeks
before the date of the first planned visit taking place. The person
legally authorised to represent the applicant’s organisation must
countersign the application form confirming agreement to the job shadowing
placement / study visit.
