Evaluation and Follow-Up

Evaluation is important because it helps you to figure out what you have learned, what worked and what could be changed. It is often added on at the end of a project but ideally it should be a continuous organised reflection on your activity. It also provides useful material for all kinds of follow up activities including reporting to funders and sharing outcomes with the wider community. You may even be inspired  to consider new North South projects or to go even further afield!

Evaluation is a continuous process. It starts when you are preparing for an activity or project and is only finished after the final report and dissemination of your results.

Sometimes it is revisited even later. Evaluation is very important because it helps you to figure out what you have learned, what worked and what could be changed.

It is really a sort of continuous organised reflection on your shared activity.

It can be useful to get feedback from very young participants as well as the organisers.

“I feel we should have paired the children before the exchange, so that when they met at least one name and identity would spring to mind.”
